london.
I AM GOING TO LONDON!!!
I got accepted to Study Abroad through BYU.
I am going for Spring Semester 2009.
I can't wait.
I get giddy when I think about it.
I am ECSTATIC!
euphoric
blissful
overjoyed
delighted
thrilled
elated
rapturous
excited
happy
seriously..can't think of any synonym for the word "ecstatic" that im not feeling.
here is the essay that got me in:
I am thrilled to write this letter of application, as it is the first step in a process that may give me the opportunity to study in London. May I introduce myself: Most of my childhood was spent in Canada. During my sophomore year of high school my family moved to Las Vegas. I received scholarship offers from two universities; however, I elected to attend BYU without a scholarship. I am the primary means of my financial support. I work on campus, twenty hours a week during Fall and Winter semesters and fulltime this past summer. My transcript will indicate that I have received above average grades in nearly every class. My parents and grandparents have traveled in England, and places such as Westminster, the Thames, the Lake District and the Cotswolds have become legendary to me. Literature is my passion. Fittingly, I am an English major. English authors, including Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, Jane Austen, Beatrix Potter, and Shakespeare are preeminent among my favorites. I am passionate about the lives of authors. Their history fascinates me. Writing becomes much more personal and intense when one knows the history that molded the outlook and values of the author. I love gaining insight into what events and circumstances shaped each author's life and how their individual histories shine through their writing.
Aside from the general worth of travel, I would benefit from the London experience in three ways. First, I could study authors, literature, and the history of literature more intensely through experiencing the legendary ambient spirit of England and by utilizing the environment in my studies. Second: To be intimately exposed to the general history and institutions that fostered the industrial revolution, the development of our language, and the growth of our Church would be of lasting worth to me. Lastly, I understand that, as participants, we will have the opportunity to serve in the London Wards. England was very significant in defining our early Church, and I eagerly look forward to participating in the gospel effort among English people.
If accepted, I will honestly strive to make a positive contribution to the program: to bring a love for learning, a strong work ethic, and a basic commitment to the educational element of Study Abroad. I believe I can anticipate the challenges of living in a close environment, participating in a programmed itinerary, sharing a room with several girls, washing dishes, working in the kitchen, and maintaining an orderly environment. I look forward to being positive and offering help and friendship. I will do all within my power to make the most of this opportunity.
i know that you all wanted to read that...
haha.
but i am kiiiinda proud of it.
a couple hundred people apply for this program every semester.
and only 50 are chosen
...
and i am totally one of them :]
ps. how funny is that picture? the day after i found out...we happened to walk by a london photo booth at california adventure. i laughed.

besties.
together we took our first bus ride, of which we both a little scared,
if you think you can handle the two of us... you'd better be prepared.
we've survived the loooong cold winter hours,
sometimes, we even have teleconnetic powers.
we've played on lots of swings and such,
sometimes we study, sometimes not so much
we're not too serious, but we have lots of fun,
we like to wear pajamas that are not two pieces, but rather one.
we tell each other everything,
we like to go to parks - oh what fun they bring!
when it comes down to it all,
whether it is spring or summer or fall,
you'll not be able to find a better pair, no never,
we will be friends forever
we are a brunette and a blond,
with an inseparable bond.
